Bamboo

Bamboo has been greatly associated with Indian culture. We use bamboo for house construction, for making paper etc. It flowers and set seeds once in 40to 50 years. During the flowering season, occurrence of famine is noticed. What may be the reason? The rats are attracted towards the protein rich seeds of Bamboo and the rats multiply enormously. as the seeds are exhausted the rats turn to food crops like paddy potato etc. which may cause famine in older days.

Can you say a substance, which expands on solidification? Yesterday my daughter took water on a glass bottle and she wanted to make ice cubes by putting it in the freeser of the refrigerator. Our body needs carbohydrates proteins and fats for normal growth. If they are in excess harmful equally. Let us consider the carbohydrate, Starch has the harmful effects are diabetics, obesity etc. My doctor said that I should reduce my weight by 10 kg. But it is very difficult to control weight, even after fasting and reducing oil in food. I developed hunger at a particular time and I used to eat more sweet at that time as blood shows deficiency of sugar. As I consulted my doctor he said that please use whole grain products, which will release sugar at low pace showed some amazing results. Yes it worked out I lost 3 Kg after 7 months!!!

The Clock

Last week I had an urgent meeting at Thodupuzha, at 11Am In Idukki District, Which is of 7 hours journey from my home District. My train starts from Trivandrum at 5 o clock morning. I had forgotten to set my alarm but I woke up early at 3 o clock.Thanks to my biological clock in my body I could reach the destination in time. Plants and animals have the inbuilt mechanism of biological clock in them for their survival. In plants a bluish protein called phytochrome can sense the Light and can manifest light associated activities. Think of periodic activities exhibited by organisms.
