N.P.K

For proper growth of plants Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium (N, P, K) are needed in adequate amounts in soil. One of the farmers who had cultivated about 1000 banana plants came to me and told that he is going to loose his crop ,a remedy should be given. I immediately rushed to his plot. The symptom is that of newly produced leaves are unable to open fully. I could identify the problem as the deficiency of potassium. Later talking with the farmer it was said that he had applied only ammonium phosphate only, a fertilizer contains only nitrogen and phosphorous only. I advised to apply 100 Gm of muriate of potash, a potassium fertilizer per plant twice. He got desired result after three months and was happy over my advice
