Bamboo

Bamboo has been greatly associated with Indian culture. We use bamboo for house construction, for making paper etc. It flowers and set seeds once in 40to 50 years. During the flowering season, occurrence of famine is noticed. What may be the reason? The rats are attracted towards the protein rich seeds of Bamboo and the rats multiply enormously. as the seeds are exhausted the rats turn to food crops like paddy potato etc. which may cause famine in older days.

Expansion

Can you say a substance, which expands on solidification? Yesterday my daughter took water on a glass bottle and she wanted to make ice cubes by putting it in the freeser of the refrigerator. She didn’t tell me what she had done. She was expecting ice cubes. Today my wife while cooking observed broken glass pieces in the refrigerator and was angry with my daughter. Have you observed occasional breaking of water pipelines in cold regions? All these points that water is a substance that expands on solidification.

Dress

One of my friends Mr. Thampan, who is a film maker and artist told me that Mr. . Asok have you ever noticed that people coming to seashore are selecting specific colours of dress in the evening? I told him that being an artist you might have such imaginations in you. Later my conclusion was on relationship of dresses with climatic changes. In summer we use light coloured fabric with lighter fabric like cotton. In winter darker and brighter coloured fabrics are preferred. Because black bodies absorb heat as compared to lighter shade. People using such a dress code might have unknowingly influenced his mind.
