PESTICIDES SAFETY

PESTICIDES ARE HIGHLY TOXIC CHEMICALS USED TO CONTROL PESTS. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN IN HANDLING THESE CHEMICALS. USE GLOVES AND MASKS WHILE HANDLING THESE PESTICIDES. FIPRONIL

Fipronil is a third generation granular type pesticide used in Kerala recently.

IMIDACLOPRID 30.5% EC

It is a new generation pesticide ,a very effective insecticides for many pests.Dosage for vegetables 1ml in 10 liters of water

DIMETHOATE

Dimethoate is a systemic insecticide with Acaricidal properties.

Cypermethrin10%

This is a synthetic pyrethroid used control major pests of crops.

ACEPHATE 75% SP

Acephate 75% is soluble powder insecticide is good against weevils attacking plants.

MALATHION 50 % EC

Malathion is relatively safer insecticide to be sprayed against pests of vegetables .

CHLORPYRIfOS 50% CYPERMETHRIN 5 %

CHLORPYRIfOS 50% CYPERMETHRIN 5 % IS A VERY EFFECTIVE COMBINATION PESTICIDE

CHLORANTRANILIPROLE

QUINALPHOS 25% EC

Quinalphos is a common contact  insecticide which is used to control larvae many pests like Spodoptera. The concentration required is 2.5 ml/litre of water

2-4-D SODDUIUM SALT 80% AND GLYPHOSATE 41%

 Two weedicides commonly used for weedcontrl here is Glyphosate and 2-4-D Sodium salt

Carbendazim 50% W.P

It is systemic fungicide used for control of many fungal diseases of paddy and vegetables.The concentration required is 2 gms per litre of water

Carbendendazim12%+Mancozeb 63% W.P

This is a combination of fungicide very effective in control the diseases affecting Banana plants

PROPICONOZOL

TRIDEMORPH 80% EC(CALIXIN)

For the control of stembleeing in Coconut and to give fungicides through the roots, root injection is given through a polythene cover by mixing 5 ml of calixin in 100ml of of water by selecting a good root and cut the end and dip in the solution

COPPER OXYCHLORIDE 50%

Copper oxychloride is common fungicide used in Kerala in control of various diseases affecting crops except cucubitaceous vegetables.The recommended dose is3 to4 gms per Litre of water.

HEXACONOZOLE 5% EC

Hexaconozole is effectively used for managing Root wilt diseases in coconut In oredr to prevent the rottingMix hexaconozole5% 2 ml in 300 ml of water and sprinkle around the crown

Copper Sulphate

One of the oldest fungicide Bordeaux mixture  prepared from from copper sulphate still very useful in cthe control of many diseases except that affecting cucubitaceous vegetables.

Zineb 75 WP

 Zineb 75% Wettable Powder is used as a fungicide to contrl many of diseases affecting crops in Kerala

Fenvalrate 20%EC

                                     Fenvalrate 20% EC is used in the  control many pests in Kerala .It belongs to synthetic pyrithroid group having contact insecticidal property.
